Our destination Singell Tea Estate is only 2.5 km from the always busy hill town of Kurseong. A narrow road suddenly enters the tea garden from the shady mixed path of the pine and the zigzag narrow gauge line of the toy train. On the high hill on the right, there is the beautiful carpet of the tea plant and on the slope on the left is beautiful “Singell Valley”. Only tea gardens on the way down. And a little further down is Single Tea village. And there are single tea-factories and huge tea-bungalows.

This tea garden is a paradise for nature lovers. The path and the mind will both be lost in the green valley. The tea garden is very old and the whole village is covered with velvet green tea plants. As well as forests of cedar pine and other trees are also there. In this secluded place for a day or two, you can walk around the village adjacent to the tea garden. You will be surely pleased to talk to the local people and get their company. The hard life struggle did not take the smile out of their faces. Your mind also gets happy to see their always smiley face. You can take a light trek to the Balasan River. From Singell Tea Village you can also visit Dowhill, Forest Museum, Deer Park, Heritage School, Eagles Craig. The famous Makaibari and Ambutia tea gardens can also be visited.

You can also visit the Hydel Power Project on the Balasan River, popular as a fishing and picnic spot nearby. If you want to take the toy train ride, you can take it from the nearby station Kurseong. And if it is winter, you must visit the coffee berry orange garden, you love that surely. You can also get acquainted with the method of processing tea leaves in the tea factory.

The homestead here will feature green tea gardens and other jungles far and wide from their verandah and roof. And from there, you may see the Toy train running along the winding mountain path. The staying and food arrangements of those beautiful homestays like the picture are very good. The porches of the clean houses are decorated with colorful flowers. Quite tasty hot food is served here for taste-satisfaction. And the hospitality and closeness of the people here will delight you.
